In Dutch, a shoehorn is called a schoenlepel (a shoe spoon).
But besides that, what I really want to talk about is AI, of course. Today I want to talk about Grokbot, an equivalent true do-it-all AI agent. OpenClaw is really the first way of having an AI agent that was so powerful and had so much access to a system that it basically could do everything. It was followed up by Hermes Agent, but now it’s really nice to see a large AI lab releasing its own version built by the team at Cursor.
Now, together with all the power and computes and talent of SpaceX AI, they built Grok Bot. It is another AI chat interface, but each bot has access to one or multiple machines, which allows it to basically do anything for you.
Anything you say? Well, of course, there are some limitations. But today, for example, I had Grokbot order coffee for me. I had it clean up several email accounts at the same time. I had it go through LinkedIn messages. I had it transcribe an audio file that I sent it, and I had it write some code and deploy an app. It can all do those things, and it does them quite well and reliably. You ask for the thing and it essentially just does it!
So what’s this whole shoehorn thing? Well, the way I think you should think about super powerful, super intelligent AI is that it doesn’t need to fill the shoes of a particular human. So you’re not going to necessarily have a bot that takes the role of a chief of staff or an accountant or something else, because there’s no reason to do that. Any bot (agent) can be an expert in anything. And any agent (bot) can have access to everything.
At least that’s what I’m thinking right now. I think it’s worth to give it a try. Use a generic bot like a Grokbot or an Openclaw instance, or even just Claude Code and have those do all the tasks that you give to AI.
Use this as a question answering machine. Use it to write, deploy, maintain code. Use it to order stuff online. Use it to design stuff for you. But don’t necessarily paint yourself into a corner by setting up specific bots that do specific things. Rather, just don’t think too much about it. Just use the magical machine to do stuff for you as you ask it.
