Oh! And I almost forgot: any Julia Donaldson book is a hit!

We read to our eldest since he was 4 months old before bed and now with almost 3 years he loves books and it’s actually one of the few activities that calms his inte(eeeeeeeeeeee)nsity 😅

We read mostly in Portuguese and his favourites are:

-A toupeira que queria saber quem lhe tinha feito aquilo na cabeça

- any of the Cuquedo histories (specially Cuquedo, a origem do medo because it has dinosaurs and a lot of repetition and sounds)

Our english favourite was offered by our Australian friends and it’s a classic: Koala Lou

Books are really the best gift to give children. Thank you for sharing!

I loved reading the books "Lampje" and "Krekel" to my 7- and 11-year-old. And also loved the books "Mot en Metaalvissers” and “Films die nergens draaien”

My 9 year old is a sucker for "Coelho vs. Macaco" (Bunny vs. Monkey). And also "Bando das Cavernas". By now he prefers to read it himself. He can do several books in one week.

When is a good time to this? Going to bed? And from what age? My daughter is 2.5 years old now. She can grasp a story when looking at the images (and kindda making up the story on her own), but maybe she is also ready to just listen while I sit by her bedside

Right before bed always works for us!

Research has shown that reading to kids from 0 on has benefits (maybe not Roald Dahl at that age ;)), so start today!
